- New bedding – Nothing makes you feel better than slipping between silk bed sheets; order a new quilt/cover and bedding set and you will look forward to bedtime. Splurge on a king-size quilt and if the budget stretches that far, buy a new bed and that will give you the motivation to renovate the room!

For less than $100, you have a stunning night sky and, in the day, you wouldn’t know they are there. You can find a how-to video on YouTube that shows you how to prepare and paint the ceiling and stick the stars; a few hours work and you can sleep under the stars.
- Add a table and armchair – There are times when you want to sit down rather than lie on the bed and creating a leisure corner is a cool addition to any bedroom. If your decor is modern or contemporary, why not invest in a military chest and a leather armchair, with a Victorian table lamp to complete the look. A small bookcase is another must-have.
